Bylaws of Diamond & Abrasives Engineering Editorial Young Board
Article 1
To sustain the vitality of Diamond & Abrasives Engineering and expand its influence among young scholars, the Journal establishes the role of Young Editorial Board (YEB) Members.
Article 2
These Bylaws are formulated in accordance with the Editorial Board Bylaws of Diamond & Abrasives Engineering Journal.
Article 3
Applicants for YEB membership shall generally meet the following criteria:
a) Be scholars under 32 years of age (calculated as of January 1 of the year following application). Scholars with associate senior professional titles may be up to 36 years old. Age limits are appropriately extended for female scholars.
b) Hold a doctoral degree with research expertise aligned with the journal’s scope.
c) Demonstrate distinctive and representative research directions.
Article 4
Applications shall undergo preliminary screening by the Publisher. Approved candidates will be deliberated at the next YEB meeting. Final appointments, subject to approval by the Editorial Board Chair and Vice-Chair(s), take effect from January 1 of the following year.
Article 5
YEB members serve a three-year term with automatic renewal. The Publisher issues paper or electronic appointment letters.
Article 6
The YEB shall convene annually, typically alongside the Editorial Board meeting.
Article 7
YEB members shall:
Submit manuscripts, solicit contributions, or conduct peer reviews.
Contribute ≥1 manuscript or perform ≥3 peer reviews per term.
Article 8
YEB members must promote the journal, including identifying their role in academic presentations.
Article 9
YEB members have the right and obligation to attend all (Young) Editorial Board meetings.
Article 10
Resignation conditions:
a) Eligible YEB members may apply for full Editorial Board membership, relinquishing YEB status upon appointment.
b) Members exceeding age 40 retire honorably; recognition is granted at term end, with dismissal effective the next term.
c) Members failing to meet Article 7 obligations receive a reminder in Year 2. Non-compliance by Year 3 results in non-reappointment.
Article 11
If ≥30% of YEB members contest a specific bylaw clause, the Publisher shall notify all members and address the matter at the next YEB meeting.
Article 12
These Bylaws were drafted by the inaugural YEB of Diamond & Abrasives Engineering, reviewed by the Editorial Board Chair and Vice-Chair(s), and promulgated for implementation.
